Term & Conditions

We aim to keep our service as simple to use and understand.

1. Who Can use it

  1. To use our service you must be a resident of Canada. We require your postal code and current internet provider's company name for verification on our system.

2. Domains

  1. Custom domain names can be used on our service.
  2. A custom domain can be registered on your behalf by GCEC or registered by other domain registrars.
    - We recommend using our registration services for security and easy of use.
  3. Domain prices can vary based on type of domain being registered and current market prices. GCEC will email a quote prior to registration and renewal.
  4. Domain name can not be changed once registered.
  5. Domain registration fee is non refundable.
  6. Domain registration is held by GCEC until registration fees have been fully paid.
  7. Domain can be transfered at owner request. Domain must be in good standing and account must be fully paid up prior to any transfer being made.
  8. An annual domain registration renewal fee will be charged on all accounts using custom domain names registered and held by GCEC. This renewal fee may vary depending on the type of domain name being renewed and current market prices.
  9. Accounts using their own domain name which was registered by another provider are required to have their domain name registered and working at all times. GCEC is not responsible for the state of the domain in these cases since we do not have control over the other company's services.

3. Data Storage and Disk usage

  1. Our services are designed to provide transit storage for your email and data and not a permanent storage facility.
  2. We are not responsible for any data loss. Users of the service are responsible for storing and maintaining their email and data off-site once the initial email message has been delivered and/or received by any of the end users devices.
  3. We limit the amount of email/data that can be stored on any give account. We believe your email is your business so your email should kept on your devices not ours.

  4. We monitor the amount of data being stored on any given account. We limit the storage space to 10,000 nodes or server disk capacity in gigabytes (GB) depending on your package. (1 node = 1 file or email approx.) For privacy reasons we do not read the contents of your emails.
  5. A warning email message will be sent to the users account when 80% of mailbox capacity is reached.
  6. An account will be suspended if the mailbox becomes 100% full. User will be able to login and remove email messages to lower disk usage. No new email will be sent or received until free disk space is sufficiant.

4. Illegal activity or Abuse of our service

We will not tolerate abusive use of our service.

  1. Any illegal activity as definded by Canadian laws will be reported to the authorities and the account will be suspended and an investigation will be made. If the investigation is found to be true your account will be terminated. No refund will be issued. An archive of your account data will be created and given to the authorities as evidence.
  2. Email spamming, sending bulk junk email, email bombing, sending harasing email, breaking into or disrupting our services or malicious email activities are not permitted. Your account will be suspended immediately. The reported incident will be investigated. If the investigation is found to be true your account will be terminated. No refund will be issued.

5. Closing an account

  1. If you wish to close your account simply contact us by email stating you wish to close your account. The email must contain your GCEC account number and your personal security code. We will send you a authorization email for you to confirm.
  2. Domains can be transfered to another provider or cancelled entirely. This can take several days to transfer any given domain. Once a domain is cancelled it is un-available for 60-90 days before it is publicly available.
  3. No refund will be given on cancelled domains.
  4. Once an account is closed all data is removed and can not be recovered.

6. Payment

  1. All accounts will be invoiced every month on a month to month basis. No refund will be issued once the billing date has passed.
  2. Payment is required with in 7 days of the billing date. No payment will result in late fees from the date of the invoice.
  3. If payment is not recieved for longer than 30 days will result in service suspention until all payment and late fees are recived. If payment is not recived with 45 days of the original invoice the account will be closed and all emails will be deleted.
  4. User can cancel their account at anytime. No refund will be issued once the billing date has passed.
  5. No refund will be given on cancelled domains.
  6. Payment can be made by bank eTransfer.

7. Service agreement

  1. We provide an email service to you as a paid service. User agrees to pay promptly for there account on a monthly basis.
  2. We strive to provide a 100% working service, however sometimes, very rarely, factors out of our control can occur. As a result we offer our service “As-is”.
  3. We are not responsible for any losses or damage as a result of using our services.
  4. We are not responsible for any email messages not being received or delivered to or from other providers outside our network.
  5. Our services are designed to provide transit storage for your email and data and is not a permanent storage facility. We are not responsible for any data loss. Users of the service are responsible for storing and maintaining their email and data off our servers once the initial email message has been delivered to any of their devices.

8. Content on our site

  1. All text and information on this website is property of GCEC and subject to change.
  2. All images on this website are property of GCEC and may viewed only from this site. These images can not be used, copied or reproduced in anyway without our written permission.
